Cosy Company: Interior Edition

Carpets made from PET bottles? Bedspreads made from eucalyptus? Sustainable hammocks and wall clocks that improve the world? Something is happening in the field of interior products. Here we want to introduce you to four exciting companies that want to make a difference in the world with their mission. We also have a nice competition with these four for you on Instagram

Carpets made from PET bottles

To counteract the masses of plastic in our world, liv interior processes them into wonderful carpets. In doing so, the advantages of the material come to the fore: Because PET is water and dirt repellent, the carpets are particularly suitable for outdoor use. All liv interior carpets are produced fairly and bear the GoodWeave seal of approval against exploitative child labour and for compliance with minimum social and ecological standards. The licence fees are used to finance social and educational programmes in India and Nepal.

The hand-woven SAMI rug has a classic Scandinavian design, measures 70x140cm and adapts to various styles with its black and white pattern. It can be used both indoors and outdoors, and its water-repellent PET properties make it particularly suitable for the bathroom or balcony.

Watches, sunglasses or jewellery made of wood

At KERBHOLZ from Cologne, harmony with nature is an integral part of the corporate philosophy. We already had the pleasure of meeting the founders Matthias and Moritz at an event. All KERBHOLZ products have something in common: they connect people with nature! And the fact that this connection drives the KERBHOLZ team is not only evident in the products, but also in the brand's campaigns: with every purchase over 100€, KERBHOLZ supports charitable and sustainable organisations in its online shop. In the last five years, several thousand trees have been planted, many hectares of flower meadows have been secured for Bienenretter e.V., and several hundred cubic litres of ocean water have been freed from plastic.

The team is also particularly proud of the production of the wall clocks, e.g. the Wall Clokk Alp Edition, which has been taken over by a carpenter's workshop in the beautiful mountains of South Tyrol since spring 2020. The collaboration optimises CO2 emissions in transport routes, uses local resources and promotes a local business. It is made of high-quality woods that come from controlled Tyrolean forestry. In addition, it is feather-light, noiseless and the details form a harmonious contrast to the warm wood, which makes each Wall Clokk unique due to its unique grain.

Sleep better with eucalyptus!

Originally from France, the Kipli brand offers you natural bedding and furniture for a healthy home. It all started with the 100% natural Kipli mattress. It was designed by the two founders Antoine and Davide with the aim of offering a sustainable alternative to 90% petroleum-based synthetic mattresses on the market. In the meantime, there are also sustainable bedding products and a first solid wood furniture series. All products are developed with a focus on sustainability, durability and quality. In addition, the company produces 100 % in Europe. In order to initiate a positive change in consumer behaviour, Kipli collaborates with other companies and organisations that share the same values. For example, they support the organisations Sea Shepherd and Boomforest as well as WWF France and are a member of 1% for the planet.

The Kipli duvet is made from certified organic cotton and lyocell TENCEL. It is manufactured in southern Germany with respect for people and the environment. The choice of high-quality natural materials makes the Kipli duvet particularly soft, cosy and breathable. Thanks to the excellent temperature regulating properties of the natural materials, you will neither sweat nor freeze with the Kipli duvet. In addition, the natural duvet is mite-repellent and antibacterial.

Maximilian, Leonid and Cornelius Grisar are behind the family business LA SIESTA. They take responsibility for people and nature by making an active contribution. Through the not-for-profit initiative of LA SIESTA founder Alexander SOCiLA, they are committed to the sustainable cultivation of organic cotton, and in their Centro LA SIESTA in Brazil, they show kids and young people future prospects away from crime in the beach soccer school "Dito Escolinha".
